NEW YORK — Plant-based meat maker Simulate, Inc. is expanding its lineup with Wings, a line of meat-free, chicken-style wing alternatives.
The spicy, Buffalo-flavored meat analogues are made with wheat flour, soy protein concentrate, soybean oil, yellow corn flour and water, plus a hot sauce featuring aged cayenne peppers, vinegar, sea salt and garlic powder. Each serving contains 210 calories, 8 grams of protein, 10 grams of total fat and 21 grams of total carbohydrates.
The frozen plant-based wings take 10 minutes or less to prepare, according to the company. They are available direct-to-consumer through Simulate’s website for $20 per 32-oz box.
Simulate launched in 2019 with its first product, Nuggs (also formerly the startup’s name), a plant-based chicken-style nugget. Since then, it has expanded its lineup with Spicy Nuggs, Dino Nuggs and Discs, a plant-based chicken patty alternative. The company last spring debuted in retail, launching Nuggs on shelves at Walmart, Target, Whole Foods Market and Sam’s Club.
